The main renter signs and qualifies
Rental counters commonly connect the payment card, driving licence and rental agreement to the main renter. A partner, employer or family member paying online does not automatically make their card acceptable for the pickup authorization.
Additional driver is a separate role
Adding someone as an authorized driver does not normally turn that person into the main renter or move the pickup payment requirement to their card. The additional driver can have separate age, licence, counter-presence and fee rules.
Resolve name differences before travel
If a card uses initials, a previous surname or a business name, ask the exact branch what evidence it will accept. Do not wait until the counter to discover that the displayed cardholder name cannot be matched to the reservation and licence.
Pickup checklist

- 5Qualify and register each additional driver separately.
Questions renters ask
Can my spouse pay while I drive?
Online payment and pickup qualification are separate. Unless the exact terms support that arrangement, plan for the main renter to present the qualifying card.
Can the additional driver's card cover the deposit?
Do not assume it can. Confirm a named exception with the operating branch before booking.
