What this guide helps you decide

Put Orlando arrival logistics and the payment/document checks in the right order before going to the counter.

Debit can work, but the return ticket and branch decide the route

Conditional: Enterprise, Alamo and National MCO publish airport debit routes requiring a ticketed return itinerary, matching renter/card details and the other stated pickup qualifications. Avis, Budget, Hertz, Dollar, Thrifty and SIXT require their own reviewed scopes and exceptions.

Choose the operating supplier before calculating a hold. Enterprise and Alamo's MCO $400/$850 figures apply to the no-return-itinerary scenario; they are not a universal arriving debit deposit. SIXT's unresolved official acceptance conflict requires clarification rather than a positive debit conclusion.

Find the correct terminal's rental desk

Orlando airport's ground-transportation guidance places rental-car counters on Ground Transportation Level1 in Terminals A and B, and Level4 in Terminal C. Check the airport authority's current supplier directory and your reservation for the exact desk, car collection and return route.

A rental company appearing in a terminal directory proves a service presence, not eligibility for your payment card. An off-airport booking can have separate shuttle instructions; match the precise branch name and location on the confirmation.

International arrival: keep the original documents accessible

Carry the original licence valid through return, passport and required IDP/translation. A traveller from India or the GCC should check the actual licence language/script rather than relying on country alone. An IDP is not a replacement licence.

Keep your return itinerary in the renter's name available offline. If your documents show differing addresses or names, ask the branch to identify acceptable proof before you travel. Photocopies and wallet-only payment are not dependable substitutes for required originals.

At the counter, verify the amount before authorizing it

Ask for the charges still due, refundable deposit/hold and optional products as separate items. Compare the requested hold with the selected branch and rate terms. An upgraded vehicle can move the authorization into a different tier.

After return, retain the receipt and release confirmation. The card issuer controls when released funds become available, so leave enough headroom for the rest of the trip.

Pickup checklist

  1. 1Confirm branch and arrival terminal.
  2. 2Save the airport's current desk/transport directions.
  3. 3Prepare original licence, passport and IDP if required.
  4. 4Carry the qualifying physical card and return itinerary.
  5. 5Confirm vehicle class, age fees and matched deposit before paying.

Questions renters ask

Where are rental counters at MCO?

The airport authority lists Terminal A/B Ground Transportation Level1 and Terminal C Level4. Use the current directory and supplier reservation for the exact desk and vehicle-collection instructions.

Is the MCO debit-card deposit $400?

Not universally. Some branches' $400/$850 figures apply without a return itinerary, while ordinary debit requires one. Get the amount for your actual card, ticket, vehicle and rate.

Does Alamo debit pickup qualify for Skip the Counter?

No. Alamo's separate Skip the Counter rules require a major credit card and have additional booking requirements. Ordinary debit acceptance does not grant the service.
